Bay of Plenty Report

Well the fishing in my area has come to an abrupt end overnight as ALL rivers are hugely swollen after yesterdays and still todays massive rainfall.Yesterday we were enjoying a splendid day up the Waioeka River one minute when all of a sudden it was a matter of getting out real quickly as a wall of water swept downstream.

However at the end of the rainbow as they say is a golden something or other and this will be no exception for as we all know the rain is just what we needed be you farmer or fisherman so I would expect that the river fishing down our way will return to it's magical ways for a few weeks prior to the end of the season if there ever is such a thing.

Over in the Rototua lakes there is plenty of action particularly for the Trollers and the Jiggers with some splendid fish being taken and of course the Ngongataha is brimming with fish of mixed quality but get in the water early to secure a spot and everyone says  how busy the Tongariro gets Boy you aint seen anything like the Ngonga.

Incidentally I had the chance to fish the Waihau the week after the World Champs----I fished pegs T10 T11 and caught 27 fish in a little over 3hours pity all the pegs are still lying on the banks except for T10 which is in my garden.

Next report should contain some good news so look out

In the meantime out with those 9 # rods winter is almost upon us

Tightlines
Graham.
