Bay of Plenty Report
Firstly an update on the lakes----depending who you speak to largely paints the lake scene---most anglers seem to have been, to date, disappointed at their success or rather lack of it from their trips to the winter fishing spots this season and most say that the fishing from the shorelines is all but over although personally I feel that there's another good month at least still to come----time will tell.
Most of the rivers in the district have been subjected to some serious rain of late and all have been running high and dirty up to a day or two ago. However as of right now they have come really spot on particularly for the nymphers - the colour of the water is perfect.Yesterday a quick trip up the Waioeka produced 5 really prime rainbows from the lower reaches all fish still to spawn.
Similar situations are almost certain to exist in the other rivers in the district that are still open for fishing and with no anglers around it's heaven sent.
Tightlines Graham.
