Bay of Plenty Report
The good news for this edition is that the Rotorua lakes that are traditional fishing spots for winter shoreline fishing are all firing with some very good fish having already been taken so all is looking good for the ensuing weeks .
On the river fishing fronts good reports are coming from the Waiohou, Mangamako and Horomanga and with only a little while to go before closure these could be a good spot to head for.
Closer to Opotiki the Waioeka and it's tribs are fishing pretty well but as the fish are moving upstream at a rapid rate of knots a bit more leg work is needed to head them off.
Dont overlook the fact that there are still plenty of waters open to be of interest to the hardened winter angle, like moi, so no need to hang up the gear just yet; just get out there and do it
Tightlines Graham. Graham Pyatt is an independent fishing guide; his reports are not officially representative of Fish & Game NZ
