Bay of Plenty Report
As the river fishing by and large is winding down for another year we can reflect on what has been a wonderful seasonhere in the BOP and surrounds.
All the rivers in what I affectionately call "my" patch have produced great and exciting times throughout the entire summer with the Ruakuturi and the Waioeka standing out.The Rangitaikei ,the Whirinaki have also been very good although they have'nt seen much of me this season.
The other river which has been really worth while and certainly providing a real challenge has been the Motu with plenty of incredible brown trout being present some of which gave up but most outwitted all but the very experienced flyfisher.
The Rororua lakes are just beginning to fire up from the shores and all predictions are for a good winter.
Finally dont forget that there are still lots of rivers either entirely or in part that remain open throughout the whole year so there are no reasons for allowing your gear to rust up so hopefully we will see some of you out there doing it.
