The other big summer fishing activity for Central South Island and North Canterbury anglers is sea-run salmon fishing, and the fishery has started firing in the Rakaia River.

North Canterbury staff witnessed four sea-run salmon get caught in under two hours recently, and angling activity on the Canterbury coast has certainly picked up!
