Boggy Creek hunting stand ballot information

 

Boggy Creek is a designated game bird hunting area located on the northwestern shoreline of Lake Ellesmere / Te Waihora, with access via Colletts Road.

This area is public land owned by the Department of Conservation and is managed for hunting by North Canterbury Fish & Game.

To ensure fair access, six hunting stands are maintained within the Boggy Creek area, and access is allocated by annual ballot.

To enter the ballot for a Boggy Creek hunting stand:

  1. Download the application form

  2. Complete the form in full

  3. Email your completed form to:
    [email protected]

The terms and conditions for use of the hunting stands are included with the form, so please read them carefully before submitting your application.

Applying is free and open to all licensed game bird hunters.

Ballot Timeline

  • Applications Open: 1st March

  • Applications Close: 3rd April

  • Ballot Drawn: The next working day after the close of applications

Be sure to get your application in on time—late entries will not be accepted.
