Hawke's Bay Junior Driven Pheasant Hunt

All Hawke's Bay Junior Game Bird Licence holders have an amazing opportunity to enter the draw to win one of nine places at this exclusive driven pheasant hunt kindly sponsored by Hawke's Bay's newest pheasant preserve Te Konini. 

Event Details

Where: Te Konini Shoot Sherenden

When: Mid August (Date TBC) 9am-2pm

What: Three driven pheasant drives, suitable for intermediate/advanced shooters

Cost: $50 contribution to ammo

What You Need To Know

• One Parent or Caregiver to accompany the junior
• Minders/Coaches will be provided during the drives
• BYO 12 or 20 gauge double barrel shotguns, ideally 1/2 choke or tighter. No semi-autos permitted. 
• All participants must wear suitable clothing and bring own PPE. 
• Entries close Tuesday 4th August 2026. Nine winners drawn and notified Wednesday 5th August. Three backup winners will also be drawn. 

Terms & Conditions

To be eligible to enter the Junior must hold a current Hawke's Bay whole season 2026 Game bird licence. Winners must be able to make their own way to the property which is approx 1 hour from Napier. One Parent/Caregiver to attend with junior and will be able to observe from a distance but we will provide minders and coaches for the shoot. Juniors must provide their own firearm, ideally 12 or 20 gauge double barrel with 1/2 choker or tighter, hearing protection and safety glasses. No semi automatics permitted. Ground conditions are variable therefore please wear appropriate footwear as well as suitable clothing, hat and shooting vest or jacket.  The event may be postponed due to severely adverse weather conditions. We hold the right to red card any gun seen to be unsafe. Any junior not following directions from the minders will be removed from the shoot immediately. Entry to the property is entirely at your own risk and you must take all appropriate safety measures and obey all safety signage & instructions. Winners agree to contribute $50 towards ammunition used.
