Take a Mate Hunting for $5 this Kings Birthday!

This King's Birthday Weekend, it's time to gather your mates, gear up, and head for the maimai. Whether it's catching up, checking in, or just sharing a laugh in the great outdoors – Take a Mate Gamebird Hunting is your chance to reconnect with a mate who’s been missing out.

For just $5, you can nominate a mate to join you in the field on 31st May, 1st, or 2nd June 2025 – the perfect way to celebrate the long weekend and support Men’s Mental Health Week (9–15 June). Bond over the blast of the season, breathe in some fresh air, and bring home some wild kai – all while looking out for each other.

How it works:

• Nominate one mate to join you for $5 – you must be a 2025 full season gamebird licence holder.
• Your mate must not have held a game licence in the past 3 years. We will check.
• Offer is only available to Hawke’s Bay full season licence holders, hunting within the Hawke’s Bay region.
• The $5 covers the Habitat Stamp – funds go directly to the Gamebird Habitat Trust.
• Your nominated mate must hunt with you and follow all Gamebird Hunting Regulations.
• One mate per licence holder. Non-transferable.
• Only available for one day - Saturday 31st May, Sunday 1st June or Monday 2nd June 2025. Nominated date is not transferable.
• Offer only available online or through the HB Fish & Game office not through licensed agents.
