Meet Fish & Game’s incoming chief executive

Fish & Game New Zealand has appointed Callum Streeter as its new chief executive. He will join the organisation on 1 December.

Callum is a lifelong angler and hunter who understands that for many New Zealanders, fishing and hunting are more than hobbies - they are a way of life.

Born and raised in Timaru and now living in Christchurch with his wife and 12-year-old son, his own interests include upland bird, duck and big-game hunting.

He brings more than 20 years’ leadership experience from the global energy sector, including senior roles in New Zealand and the United States. He sees the role as an opportunity to bring together that experience with his passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Callum’s first priority will be to listen. He plans to visit every Fish & Game region, spend time with rangers in the field and hear directly from anglers and hunters about what matters to them.

He is excited about working with the Fish & Game team to protect and enhance New Zealand’s freshwater fisheries and game bird opportunities for today’s licence holders and future generations.

We also thank Corina Jordan for her valuable contribution while leading Fish & Game on secondment. With Callum’s appointment, she will return to her chief executive role at the Game Animal Council.

We look forward to introducing Callum to licence holders around the country after he starts.
